Our team is prepared to repair your unique needs! On this project, a chimney in the center of a flat roof made for a beautiful focal piece in the living room...until it began to leak.
After removing the disrupted & deteriorated concrete from the cap, we then applied Crown Coat sealant. The chimney was tuckpointed & masonry water repellent was applied, but the stainless steel rain cap tops it all off! Looks great masonry team!
Removed the rain cap, crown, and 20 courses to below roof line (280 bricks).
Rebuilt Chimney using the closest matching brick and mortar to code height.
+/- 75 Tuck-points below rebuild.
Installed forms and poured a 4" concrete crown with a 2" drip edge.
Reinstalled customer owned rain cap.
Cleaned up and hauled away debris.
Applied Water repellent 4 wks later to entire chimney.
After recent repairs had our homeowner inspecting what other items we may be able to fix, he noticed a subdued spot where animals had made an entry way. An animal lover himself, he was torn on getting the area closed up.
As adorable as a squirrel family can be, they can be just as destructive. He said his apologies & asked them to pack their bags. Bone Dry closed the highway & diverted the animal traffic back to the prestigious trees on the homeowner's property. Do you have a spot to close up before animals start to nestle in your attic? This roof was having leaks around the chimney. Bone Dry's specialist inspected the area and determined that the flashing was the cause. We replaced the flashing and put new shingles over the area. Now the roof is leak free!
This customer called to have a chimney inspection done.
He reported visible cracks, stones pushing away, and loose counter flashing.
Our salesman, Miles, inspected this chimney and found that the chimney crown was deteriorated allowing water penetrating from these cracks causing the stones to shift. The top flue tile on both flues was cracked. Also, the flashing was pulling away.
Within a couple weeks, we were able to complete the repairs which required rebuilding of the chimney, replacing flue tiles, and reflashing
Matching mortar colors can be extremely tricky & unfortunately is not an exact science.
This home had a red-tinted mortar that was popular in 20th century homes. While a popular color, weathering also works against our techs during any color match. Our homeowner was more than pleased with this seamless match & we are sure you will be too!
After the existing lid was taking in more water than it was excluding, it was decided it needed replacement. Our team measured, ordered & installed the brand new stainless steel lid. The black cap offers an additional weather shield against the elements.
